Every year, this is the big highlight for all winegrowers, winegrowing businesses, cooperatives and even winegrowing associations: the respective vintage presentations of the current wines. The main focus is on presenting the wines that have just been bottled and are now available for sale.
In the WG Mayschoss, incidentally the first and therefore actually the oldest winegrowers’ cooperative in the world (founded in 1868), the presentation traditionally takes place around the middle of August each year.
This year (19th to 21st August), I took part in the presentation on two days, presenting the dry red wines on day 1 and the premium red wines on day 2.
WG Mayschoss-Altenahr eG has been one of the best winegrowers’ cooperatives in the German-speaking world for many years now. In various national and international competitions organised by VINUM and Meininger, among others, the wines achieve high scores in the blind tastings of a wide range of expert juries and repeatedly achieve top positions in the overall results.
It fills me with pride to be commissioned as an external wine expert by the local cellar team to present the premium wines.
