Two and a half years after the flood disaster on 14-15 July 2021, the Ahr Valley is still a long way from its former glory. Many businesses first had to deal with the consequences of the coronavirus pandemic, then the devastating extent of the flood and are currently facing the growing burden of significantly higher costs in almost all areas of life.

On the occasion of our presentations in Furtwangen in the Black Forest, we visited top wineries and a new discovery during the day and tasted some really great surprises.
WÄLDER:Genuss
As part of our tour through the Black Forest, we were able to discover this business and are absolutely thrilled.
WÄLDER:Genuss is a regional country market in Feldberg Bärental with over 3,000 products from around 200 farmers, manufacturers and small producers. Here you will find all kinds of traditional delicacies such as Black Forest gateau, bacon and farmhouse bread.

For me, it is important to gain as much experience as possible when it comes to wine, food and enjoyment. To keep learning new things, to try out new things and possibly follow a path that harmoniously combines the specialities of the Weinahr with other regions.

Anniversary of the association for the preservation of the Saffenburg ruins
The board of the Mayschoss-Altenahr winegrowers’ cooperative had invited guests to its restaurant Krisenherd (literally: trouble cooker) for this occasion. The high attendance – the seats were fully booked – testifies to the special significance of the castle ruins of what was once the largest castle on the Ahr far beyond the borders of Mayschoss.

On 4 and 5 November 2023, eleven great winegrowers from eight German winegrowing regions invited guests to a culinary tasting in the finely restored Heppingen Castle (formerly Metternich Castle in Heppingen).
JAZZ and WINE – Halloween with a difference
Sold out! It was a wonderful, successful evening in a highly attractive hotel restaurant. The Carnott family, the owners and proprietors of Hotel Ruland, have created a very special oasis for the senses in the Ahr Valley, which was hit so hard by the floods.
